This Sunday December 7 the Holiday spirit came early with the 11th Annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade.
This year’s parade featured more that 3,500 participants with over 300,000 spectators.
Before the Parade started, there was fun family entertainment. Some of these activities included a gingerbread decorating station, face painting by Santa’s elves, “Letters to Santa” station with giant mailbox, balloon twisting, snowman and angel tree ornament decorating and an entertaining stage several music and dance performances.
This year, Rogers Santa Claus Parade featured more than 62 marching bands. choirs, festive floats and community groups including Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, the official mascot of FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, SHIFT Dance Academy, Girl Guides of Canada, Vancouver Aquarium, Canucks Autism, WorkSafe BC, Boys & Girls Club of South Coast BC, Balley Trail Blazers, North Surrey Marching Band, Toys R Us and several others.
Rogers Santa Claus Parade offered free photos with Santa Claus at the end of the Parade!
The Rogers Santa Claus parade also helps the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society which is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower people to nourish themselves by providing access to healthy food, education and training. Since its beginning, the parade has collected $132,400 and more than 73,521 lbs of food for hungry families in the lower mainland.
